Kinja'd!!!

I just purchased my plane ticket to return on May 19th to the Most Glorious Nation On Earth, and I have a eight hour layover in Boston Logan Airport. I sure as hell don't want to spend my first eight hours back in America eating shitty airport food, but I don't know if travel between the airport and the city is easy enough to be able spend a couple hours in the city. Assuming customs and everything goes smoothly and doesn't take three hours, is there something cool and Boston-y I can do between the hours of, say, 2:00 and 6:00?

If any of you are bored in the area and want to meet up, that's cool too.

Your flight to Canada has a layover in Boston?

No but I almost bought a flight that had a layover at YYZ just because I like Rush.

I would recommend going to the Larz Anderson Musuem in Brookline.

Is that close enough to get there without a car/doable in a few hours?

Hop on the T or grab an Uber and head to the North end. It is a very Italian neighborhood with a ton of great food. Mikes Pastry is a must if you are visiting.

Thanks for the suggestion! I think I went there the last time I was in Boston, although that was maybe four years ago now so I don't remember.

It's a 30 minute drive from Boston, although it depends on traffic. The museum itself is quite small. In the past they have had an R10 TDI, Fisker Karma, and other rare cars. It seems like this year they have a Ferrari F1 car, 250 GT lusso, among other old italian cars. The bottom floor is their collection, which were all pre-WWII cars.

Logan is connects to south station with like a 15 min bus ride, electric yo. Yoy can walk to a lot of things from the depending on blizzard conditions. China town is close, north end is a bit further. I don't anything specific but the theatre district is close and has some fancy stuff. If u wanna throw down some mad cash go to the top of the hub . 360 degree view of the city@ 52nd from off the Pru.

Take the Blue Line to State St. from the airport, explore Quincy Market.

If you can grab the blue line it will take you right from the airport to the aquarium. (aquarium overpriced, tourist trap) From there the north end is 15-20 walk away. State house another 20-25 minutes, Beacon hill another 5 minutes. Boston garden (the actual outdoor garden) should have flowers and is only another 15 minutes.

if you just hang around the North End/finial area there is the Freedom trail, where all the revolutionary stuff happened.

Personally I love just wandering around Boston. Just remember that your return trip will take longer or be much more crowded on the T as it will be 6:00 and all the commuters will be out.

Science museum or Aquarium. Or both. Or a duck tour. Those are always fun.
